The St. Jane Frances de Chantal Environmental Committee invites all to attend a morning celebration of Earth Day, Saturday, April 22 beginning with the 8:30 Mass. Following the Mass, everyone is invited to Caulfield Hall to a variety of activities to care for the environment.
From 9 am to 11 am, we will be collecting:
1. Durable Medical Equipment for reuse with Montgomery County’s new program.
2. Used Electronics for disposal at our county Transfer station,
3. Fluorescent and CFL lightbulbs for a lightbulb exchange for up to 3 new LED bulbs.
4. Plastic bags for proper recycling.
For outdoor enthusiasts, there will be more information about:
1. Montgomery County’s programs for rainscape gardens and conservation.
2. Native plant information for more sustainable gardening in our region.
3. Volunteer opportunities for becoming a Weed Warrior with the Rock Creek Conservancy
Memorial Tree Program
Commemorate a loved one with a memorial plaque on a newly planted tree on the grounds of our parish. The St. Jane Frances de Chantal Environmental Committee will launch this memorial drive during the Earth Day Celebration, Saturday, April 22. Please join us in Caulfield hall from 9 am to 11 am to learn more about this program. Donations of $250 per plaque will go to the Forever de Chantal Capital Campaign.
