The Little Bethlehem Christian Group will be present after all Masses the weekend of October 11 and 12. Little Bethlehem is a group that represents 200 Christian families who live in Bethlehem and make their living as wood carvers. They offer religious items, carved from the olive wood of the Holy Land, to support and help fund the Christian presence in the Holy Land. For more information, visit www.little-bethlehem.org. Every October, we consider more deeply why every human life is valuable and reflect on how to build a culture that protects life from conception to natural death. This October, all are invited to join the Rosary Campaign for the Unborn. A sign-up sheet will be available in the Church Narthex starting the weekend of September 27 and 28. Write your name and how many rosaries’ you pledge to pray for the month. The Gabriel Project crib will also be present in the church narthex all month of October - accepting donations of baby and toddler items. Click for more details.
In celebration of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of pets and animals, Fr. Giese and Fr. Morgan will be offering a blessing of animals on Sunday, October 5 between 2pm - 3pm at the Mary Garden. On Friday, August 15, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a holyday of obligation. Masses at St. Jane will be celebrated at 8:30 am, 12:00 noon, and 7:00 pm.
The Feast of St. Jane Frances de Chantal, our Parish Patroness, and Foundress of the Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary is on Tuesday, August 12, and will be celebrated during all Masses the weekend of August 9 and 10. The Rosary Group and the Vocations Ministry warmly invite all parishioners to join in praying a nine-day parish novena to our beloved Saint Jane de Chantal, immediately following the weekday morning Masses beginning Monday August 4 - Tuesday August 12. We will pray for the following parish intention: "Priestly and Religious Order Vocations".
Fr. Morgan invites all parish families to join him for a pilgrimage to Emmitsburg, Maryland on Saturday August 16th. Highlights include a rosary at the Grotto at Mt. St. Mary’s University, Mass at the Seton Shrine, and a picnic lunch a Big Slide Park. The itinerary is designed to accommodate families with children, but all are encouraged to attend. In honor of the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, all are invited to join us in church on Wednesday, July 16th. We will pray the Rosary starting at 8am, and attend the 8:30 am Mass. The Brown Scapular will be distributed for free, followed by an investiture ceremony.
